Autumn is a popular time of year to visit Tokyo, when the temperature has cooled from the peak summer months of July and August. Winter is ideal for skiing, while the beaches in Okinawa enjoy year-round good weather.

Capsule hotels can be found in cities across Japan, and they provide unique and affordable accommodation. Haneda Airport is the closest airport to Tokyo’s city centre, with four transport options available. The Tokyo Monorail and Keikyu train both take 20 minutes, while buses take between 40 to 55 minutes depending on traffic and depart every 30 to 60 minutes. A taxi takes around 30 minutes.

Trains are the most popular way for visitors to travel around Japan, and a fast and reliable service connects all of the country’s major cities. The biggest stations across Japan are all signposted and announced in English.
